I'm Kevin Twohy. These are the pictures I take. This is my email. Here's my Facebook. And for better or worse, I occasionally use Twitter.

From time to time I share tiny glimpses of what I'm working on here.

This is the raw footage of the St. Paul police repeatedly tear-gassing a peaceful protest at the Republican National Convention, having given no announcements, orders, or warnings.

I have to keep reminding myself that this happened yesterday in the United States of America.

Mainstream media has not covered the RNC protests or the extreme police response.

This is crazy. But, I hate how these little indie filmmakers feel they have to sensationalize everything. This crowd was getting violent and police force is trained to peacefully and non-violently break up these crowds before they escalate into full-blown riots that often result in serious injuries or fatalities. They do not have political agendas, they are just doing their job while trying to keep people safe. I don’t need to hear this “newscaster” screaming “HOW DO WE GET OUT OF HERE!!” while crying as if this is some sort of urban blair witch project. If you see riot police near a violent protest, you better be sure you’re willing to deal with the consequences when they try and break it up. Don’t panic and start screaming in a Cloverfield-induced haze. Just get up and leave. I know people will take this as free-speech bashing, but I think the police did the right thing, and did their job to keep people safe. It could have turned out a lot worse.

I feel ~exactly the same way on this.
